Save Peruvian Maca - Salve La Maca Peruana

We collected over 3000 signatures for the Minister of Agriculture in Peru. Fortunately, the Maca situation has stabilized in Peru and Maca prices have come down and high quality Peruvian grown Maca is available again. Beware, however that China is now selling its subpar Maca on the world market (read more here....). Always insist on Peruvian grown Maca.

Dear Mr. Juan Manuel Benites Ramos - Minister of Agriculture, Peru,

Peruvian grown Maca is a highly nutritious food that benefits millions of people all over the world. And yet the global availability of this food along with its genetic purity are now under direct attack. Much of the 2014 harvest of Maca has been illegally smuggled from Peru. Farms in China are now producing more Maca (of much poorer quality) than Peru and attempting to dominate the global Maca market. Chinese companies now hold seven patents on genetically modified Maca.

This situation is alarming and is threatening the livelihood of many Peruvians involved in Maca production and trade.
Don’t let China steal or corrupt this national cultural treasure.

Please take steps to preserve the genetic heritage of Peruvian Maca and ensure that we all have access to 100% GMO-free, fairly traded Peruvian grown Maca now and into the future. Hard working Peruvian farmers and millions of dedicated Maca customers all over the world need and deserve your support.

The Maca Team brand is very special.

I've tried various maca brands over the last 20 years and The Maca Team brand is very special. There is definitely a difference when it comes to the quality and colors of the maca. This red maca does seem to nourish certain parts of my body while the black maca nourishes something else. I know I've been missing the nutrition these maca provide. I am really happy that I chose the Maca Team, today you can find many distributors selling Maca powder, however quality of the powder is impossible to compare.
