Overview
Our Raw Yellow Maca Capsules contain 100% yellow maca root powder made from maca roots traditionally grown and harvested on an organic farming co-op in a remote pristine part of the Peruvian Andes. This powder is never heated above 106 degrees F / 40 C in order to preserve nutrients at maximum levels. Like all of our capsules, these contain absolutely no other ingredients – no fillers, flow agents or other ingredients at all.
Maca root powder is a beloved part of life in the high Andes and yellow maca is the most common of all colors, making up about 60% of the annual harvest. Yellow Maca has been the most researched of all 3 Maca colors. To date hundreds of studies, all available publicly in the Pubmed database, have found it to be useful for energy building, fertility, hormone balance, mental focus and more. Yellow maca root is indeed a nutritional powerhouse, containing nearly all essential amino acids and free fatty acids, significant levels of vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, and C, minerals iron, magnesium, zinc and calcium, a high concentration of bio-available protein and nutrients unique to Maca called macaenes and macamides. Maca is also an "adaptogen," or rare form of plant that is thought to raise the overall life force energy of those who consume it.
Using our organic capsules have unique benefits as compared to maca powders. First, when using capsules, it's easier to get an exact dosage. Second, for people who don’t appreciate the taste of maca powders, capsules are a great alternative. Finally, maca capsules are particularly useful on the go. They are easy to take on business trips, when traveling, camping etc. 
We’ve chosen to offer maca capsules over maca pills for some very specific reasons. First of all, it is possible to fill maca capsules without expensive and complicated machinery. This helps to keep the overall costs down. Second, maca pills or tablets require other ingredients in order to keep them together in pill or tablet form. We simply want to offer the purest, highest quality maca capsules available anywhere and for that reason capsules work better than pills. Similarly, it’s easy to ensure that our maca capsules are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The capsules we source are made exclusively of plant products. That’s not so easy to ensure when it comes to pills or tablets.

I've tried various maca brands over the last 20 years and The Maca Team brand is very special. There is definitely a difference when it comes to the quality and colors of the maca. This red maca does seem to nourish certain parts of my body while the black maca nourishes something else. I know I've been missing the nutrition these maca provide.
