Our Raw Premium Raw Red Maca superfood capsules contain 100% pure maca powder made from fresh-processed red maca roots. About Our Premium Raw Red Maca
All of our maca products come from maca roots that are carefully and consciously grown, processed and handled. The roots are grown traditionally on an organic farming co-op in and around Junin, Peru. We work only with producers who own and manage their lands at a local grass roots level who are committed both to organic farming and to producing the highest quality maca products available anywhere. We're very happy to support their work.
What makes the maca in our premium raw red maca capsules “premium” is the way in which it is processed. Instead of being sundried, these maca roots are fresh processed immediately after harvest. After coming out of the ground they are cleaned in a citrus solution, ground into a pulp and low temperature dried. This special processing leaves more glucosinolates in the final product. The level of glucosinolates is standardized at above 1% in our raw premium red maca natural supplement for energy and more.
This type of maca:
- Comes from a modern approach to processing maca developed in the past 25 years
- Is fresh processed - maca roots are dried in dehydrators immediately after harvest
- Is never heated over 105F / 40C
- Has higher glucosinolate content - nutrients which may help prevent cancer
- Is much stronger tasting - has a more noticeable maca flavor with more spiciness
- Is limited in supply since it must be produced from fresh roots during annual harvest (June-August)
- Costs more as the process is more labor and equipment intensive
Advantages of Maca Capsules
While taking our premium raw red maca in capsule form is more expensive than taking it in powder form, the capsules do offer some advantages.
- First, because each capsule is filled with a precise amount of maca (750mg), it is easier to measure your serving size. That makes taking your daily serving of maca much easier as there is no measuring or mixing as is the case with maca powders.
- Second, maca capules are more convenient to take. Simply swallow them with a beverage of your choice and that’s it.

Make sure you stay consistent with them. Commit to taking maca for 30 days in a row to start. That’s about 1 jar of capsules at most serving sizes. - Give them time to work. Keep in mind that maca is a food, not a supplement, medicine or herb. It takes time for maca to build up in your system. After about 30 days most people start seeing some initial benefits. That can be a bit faster or a bit slower for individuals. Also, keep in mind that maca works on the hormonal system and you may experience changes as your hormones start to work toward a healthy balance.
- Finally, if you are having any digestive discomfort after taking maca capsules, please try taking them without eating fruit or fruit juice for 30 minutes before or after.

The Maca Team brand is very special.
I've tried various maca brands over the last 20 years and The Maca Team brand is very special. There is definitely a difference when it comes to the quality and colors of the maca.
