Maca Powder Citrus Superfood Smoothie

 

A big thanks to Megan of Growing Up Herbal writing and sharing this healthy yogurt and citrus smoothie recipe with us!   This is a great Maca recipe for kids - especially in the summer!

Ingredients:

  •     2 inches of fresh ginger root – peeled and sliced
  •     2 oranges – juiced
  •     1-2 cups frozen pineapple
  •     1 cup greek yogurt (homemade will work too)
  •     1 TBSP raw honey
  •     1 TBSP of maca powder (or preferred amount)

Directions:

First, peel and slice your ginger root into small pieces and cut your oranges into halves to juice them. This is what I use if I only need a small amount of juice. Next, put all your ingredients into your Vita-Mix or preferred blender and blend until smooth. Once your smoothie is blended well, put it on the lowest setting and slowly sprinkle your maca powder in so that it blends well and doesn’t clump.  Lastly, pour it up into a pretty glass mason jar and enjoy!
